Film focuses on Missouri’s complex legacy of slavery - KansasCity.com
This afternoon we went to the local high school and watched a film on Missouri's slave history. It was presented by the Plattsburg Historical Society. It was very interesting and very educational. Once aspect of the film was pointing out the differences in slaves from Missouri compared to those in others states.
The group that put it on is putting on several more around the KC area, and hopes to take it across the state. If you have a chance to go to a viewing, do so. Following the film, Dr Jimmy Johnson, dressed in character of his great grandfather slave George Washington made an appearance to answer questions.
So, today we will be putting down 2 hours of Missouri history.
